Denpasar, September 27, 2025 – The prestigious forum for academics and practitioners in English language education, the International Conference and Annual Business Meeting 2025, has officially concluded a successful two-day session held from September 26-27, 2025, in Bali. Hosted by the English Language Education Study Program Association (ELESPA), Co-hosted by UHN I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar, Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Universitas Adi Buana Surabaya, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. The event served as a strategic platform for global collaboration and intellectual exchange.
In her opening address, the President of ELESPA, Dr. Ummi Khaerati Syam, M.Pd. emphasized the importance of global collaboration in addressing the challenges of modern education. “This year’s theme, ‘Transforming English Language Education: Innovation, Inclusion, and Impact,’ is not merely a slogan but a call to action. Through innovation, inclusion, and the creation of tangible impact, we can collectively shape a brighter and more relevant future for English language learning for the next generation,” the President stated as she officially opened the event.
Centered on this theme, the conference drew hundreds of participants, including lecturers, researchers, teachers, and students. The forum specifically addressed recent innovations in pedagogical methods, the importance of inclusivity in education, and the tangible impact of English language education on society.
The event’s international scope was underscored by the presence of delegations from nine countries and participation from 93 universities across Indonesia. The prestige of the event was further elevated by the attendance of several distinguished figures, including the Vice-Rector I for Research and Innovation from the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages (SAMSIFL), Republic of Uzbekistan; the Director of the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Embassy; a former Director of the British Council; Vice-Rector III Dr. I Komang Budiarta, S.Pd., M.Hum., M.Pd.; and Prof. Dr. Teguh Budiharso, M.Pd., Ph.D., Ph.D., DMS.

Notably, the academic forum was enriched by the presence of Prof. Abdullaeva Lola Tohirovna, Ph.D., who served not only as a keynote speaker but also as the conference’s Editor-in-Chief. She was joined by her colleague, Associate Prof. Suleymanova Nargiza Mardonovna, Ph.D., who delivered a presentation as an invited speaker.
The conference was scheduled to be attended by the Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. However, he was unable to attend due to a demanding work schedule. Prof. Dr. Fauzan conveyed his sincerest apologies for his absence, along with warm greetings to all participants and speakers.
The head of the organizing committee, Putu Santi Oktarina, M.Pd. expressed gratitude for the event’s smooth execution. “We are delighted to witness the extraordinary enthusiasm from our participants. The discussions were highly productive, and we are confident they will catalyze new innovations and collaborations in the future,” she stated.
It is anticipated that the outcomes and networks established during this conference will make a tangible contribution to the transformation of English language education. The successful execution of the International Conference and Annual Business Meeting 2025 in Bali now sets a new benchmark for the organization of similar events in the future.
