BALI, September 27, 2025 — Turatea Institute of Indonesia (INTI) strengthened its academic commitment and internationalization by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the English Language Education Study Programs Association (ELESPA/APSPBI). The signing took place during the International Conference and Annual Business Meeting (ICON-ABM) 2025, held from September 26–27 in Bali.
The series of events began with an international conference organized by APSPBI. On the second day, September 27, the MoU was signed during the Annual Business Meeting, which was attended by 52 Public and Private Higher Education Institutions from across Indonesia. The Rector of INTI, Prof. Dr. H. Maksud Hakim, S.Pd., SE., MM., delegated the task to Ali Syahban Amir, the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, to symbolize the strategic cooperation between the two institutions.
According to Ali Syahban Amir, this partnership covers three main points:
Collaboration in the Tridharma of higher education (Education, Research, and Community Service) between INTI and APSPBI members;
Mentoring and facilitation of international affairs such as research networks, conferences, and academic mobility;
Strengthening English language proficiency for lecturers and students through training, workshops, and material support.
“This cooperation is a strategic step for INTI to be more active in the international arena and to strengthen academic quality, particularly in the fields of English and digital literacy,” said Ali Syahban Amir.
Meanwhile, the President of APSPBI, Dr. Ummi Khaerati Syam, stated that this MoU provides broader opportunities for English language education study programs in Indonesia to synergize and strengthen their position in the academic world.
The Rector of INTI also emphasized that this partnership is highly important in supporting the campus’s long-term vision. “This collaboration not only expands our network but also strengthens INTI’s identity as a campus that is ready to compete at both national and international levels. We believe that synergy with APSPBI will accelerate INTI’s steps toward becoming a world-class university while remaining grounded in local values,” he expressed.
The Chairman of the Yapti Turatea Jeneponto Education Foundation, H. Maysir Yulanwar, S.Sos., M.Si., also conveyed his support. “The Foundation ensures that all lecturer activities, including this MoU, are in line with the foundation’s grand ideals to make INTI an outstanding, competitive higher education institution that provides real benefits to the community,” he asserted.
With this collaboration, INTI hopes to increase international publications, expand the mobility of students and lecturers, and become a center of excellence in technology-based English language learning in the Eastern Indonesia region.
